The Nifty50 after opening sharply higher extended rally as the day progressed and recouped all losses seen in the previous session to end at fresh record closing high on Friday.
The index formed strong bullish candle on the daily candlestick charts. The renewed trade war tensions between world's largest economies US and China spooked the market on Thursday.
The rally today was led by value buying after recent consolidation. All sectoral indices ended in the green with Bank, Financial Services, FMCG and Metal indices rising over a percent each.
The broader markets also participated in the rally with the Nifty Midcap index climbing a percent.

Ever since the Income Tax (IT) department announced a reward of up to Rs 1 crore to whistleblowers of benami properties, the Benami Prohibition Unit (BPU) has been flooded with vague tip-offs by eager citizens. Unfortunately, the BPU has not been able to make any major headway due to the lack of specifics in these tip-offs.

As per a report by The Times of India, many people have approached the BPU to offer details about benami properties, both in writing and verbally, but have failed to provide meaningful information. Many of these people are just inquisitive about the reward that they can get.

According to the Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Amendment Act, 2016, any property acquired by a person in the name of a benamidar can be confiscated and the individual involved can be imprisoned for up to seven years. The Benami Transactions Reward Scheme, 2018 was launched by the Ministry of Finance with an objective of obtaining people’s participation in the IT department’s efforts of unearthing black money and reducing tax evasion.

In order to provide information to the BPU, people are required to fill up a form and furnish the informant’s Aadhaar number along with a copy of the card. In case the information is being provided by a foreign national, the passport number needs to be mandatorily entered. The scheme offers to protect the identity of the informant though.

After a steady move seen in the past 4 days, there are a lot of outstanding short position in Nifty and the index calls and we can expect another round of short covering as we are moving towards the expiry week.

As per the current derivatives data, Nifty can move towards 10,450-10,500 in coming sessions amid further short covering by call writers.

The derivative data indicates bullish scenario to continue with Nifty having multiple strong supports at lower levels around 10,250, 10,200 & 10,100 spot levels.

We can see short covering on every dip as Put writers are once again seen active in Tuesday’s sessions. We have seen Put writing in 10,300, 10,200 puts and unwinding in calls.

The overall data has turned positive and we can now witness more upside in coming sessions.
