Nifty, Sensex End In Negative Territory

Major benchmark indices, Nifty and Sensex closed lower by 26 points or 0.26% at 9,888 level and 79 points or 0.25% at 31,592 level.There were 933 advances, 706 declines and 325 unchanged stocks on NSE indicating positive breadth floating in the market. India VIX ended lower by 1.52% at 11.62 level.
In the broader markets, BSE Mid-cap index closed at 15,691 level, up by 77 points, while BSE Small-cap index closed at 16,449 level, up by 128 points.

Bank Nifty ended at 24,058 level, down by 55 points or 0.23%.Selling activity was seen in sectors including IT, FMCG, Telecom and Auto, while all the other sectoral indices on BSE closed in the positive territory. Nifty Media index was the top gaining index ending at 3012 level, up by 0.60%. Nifty Financial Services index ended lower by 0.44% at 9956 level. Punjab National Bank was the top gainer in the Bank Nifty index atRs 132.70 per share up 2.12%. IDFC Bank and IDFC Bank were also among the top gainers on the index ending higher by 1%.

Benchmark indices tend to maintain their choppy trade as the market is nearing to the closing hours of trade. Broader market indices maintained their upward momentum throughout the day.Meanwhile, Nifty Realty is gaining on bourses among the sectoral indices on BSE. The index gained 1.34% or 3 points at 279 level. Phoenix Mills is the top gainer in the index trading higher by 7.72% at Rs 549.50 per share.Other stocks in the index viz. HDIL is trading up 2.54% at Rs 56.60 per share, DLF is trading higher by 2.54% at Rs 170.80 per share.

On the contrary, Brigade is slipping in trade by 1.52% at Rs 246.50 per share, Godrej Properties is down 0.71% at Rs 639 per share.Aurobindo Pharma is the top index gainer in the Nifty 50 index gaining higher by 3.06% at Rs 747.10 per share. At 3 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is down 27 points at 31,644, while Nifty is down by 5 points at 9909. A total of 53 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 41 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.57% at 15,703, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.95% at 16,474 level.Aurobindo Pharma, Yes Bank and Ambuja Cements are among the gainers, whereas Bharti Infratel, Tech Mahindra and Power Grid Corporation are losing on the NSE.The INDIA VIX is up down 1.56% at 11.6.

Nifty, Sensex End Higher For Fourth Straight Day

Major benchmark indices, Nifty and Sensex closed higher for the fourth consecutive trading session on Wednesday. Nifty ended at 9,914.9 level, up by 55 points, while Sensex closed at 31,671 level, up by 174 points. There were 998 advances, 631 declines and 335 unchanged stocks on NSE. India VIX ended lower by 6.3% at 11.67 level.The Reserve Bank of India's Monetary Policy Committee has maintained status quo in its fourth bi-monthly monetary policy meeting leaving the benchmark repo rate unchanged at 6%.

In the broader markets, BSE Mid-cap index closed at 15,614 level, up by 59 points, while BSE Small-cap index closed at 16,320 level, up by 127 points. Bank Nifty ended at 24,113 level, up by 9 points or 0.04%. The index slipped by more than 100 points from its day’s high to end almost flat with a positive bias.

Selling activity was seen in sectors including IT, Telecom, Metal and Consumer Durables, while all the other sectoral indices on BSE closed in the positive territory. Nifty Pharma index was the top gaining index ending at 9,372.3 level, up by 1.71%. Nifty Metal index ended lower by 0.15% at 3,588.1 level.Kotak Bank was the top gainer in the Bank Nifty index gaining Rs 22.3 per share or 2.22% at Rs 1,028.85 per share. Yes Bank and State Bank of India were also among the top gainers on the index ending higher by more than 0.8%.

The index may have strong support around 9770 while 50-DMA of 9946 will act as resistance on the upside. Bank Nifty index has moved to high point of the day to touch its intraday high of 24,230. The index faces resistance around 24350 while 24000 will act as support on the downside.

Pharma stocks have been gaining on the bourses in mid-market hours. Sun Pharma is top Nifty gainer trading higher by 3.24% at Rs 518.95 per share.

At 3 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is up 234 points at 31,731, while Nifty is up by 70 points at 9,930. A total of 29 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 33 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. There are 1,005 advances, 641 declines and 318 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting positive sentiments floating in the market.

Nifty has been struggling above the important mark of 9,900. The index may have strong support around 9770 while 9925 followed by 50-DMA of 9946 will act as resistance on the upside.

Bank Nifty index has been hovering above the 24,100 mark. The index faces resistance around 24350 while 24000 will act as support on the downside. Godrej Agrovet Limited IPO is open for subscription from Wednesday and has received subscription of 4% as of 1045 hours.

The S&P BSE Sensex is up 124 points at 31,621, while Nifty is up by 42 points at 9,901. A total of 21 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 31 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. There are 1,095 advances, 492 declines and 375 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting mixed sentiments floating in the market.Hindustan Petroleum, Aurobindo Pharma, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Dr Reddy’s and Lupin are among the gainers, whereas Coal India, Bharti Airtel, TCS, Eicher Motors and Tata Motors are losing on the NSE.

Nifty opened at 9,884 level, up by 25 points while Sensex opened at 31,522 level, up by 25 points. Hindustan Petroleum was top Nifty gainer trading at Rs 444 per share, up by 2.16% whereas Coal India was top Nifty loser trading at Rs 270.5 per share, down by 0.55%.

The zone of 9,900-9,930 is a key resistance area for the Nifty50 index. On the downside, the zone of 9,810-9,830 is an immediate support level and a breach of this support level may open gates for correction up to the levels of 9,760 and 9,700.

Market Closes Higher For 3rd Straight Day

Market ended with positive sentiments after witnessing mild volatility closing in positive territory for the 3rd straight session after 7 day losing streak.BSE Sensex closed higher by 213 points or 0.68% at 31,497 levels and Nifty ended at 9,859 levels up 0.72% or 70 points.

Nifty Metal index was the top index gainer among sectoral indices on NSE. In the mid hours of trade, Nifty Auto index roared on bourses after auto players reported their September sales figures. Nifty Auto closed higher by 0.86% at 10,903 levels.

In the closing hours of trade, Panama Petrochem witnessed a spike in share prices and got locked in upper circuit at the closing hours. The stock closed higher by 13.38% at Rs 165.70 per share.

Oil marketing companies also ticked higher on the final minutes of Tuesday’s trade. OMC’s namely IOC closed higher by 1.77% at Rs 407.15 per share, HPCL gained 1.74% at Rs 433.90 per share and BPCL gained 1.25% at Rs 478 per share.Nifty bank closed at 24,116 level gaining 0.26% or 63 points.

BSE Mid-cap index closed lower by 0.77% at 15,554. BSE Small-cap index closed higher by 0.49% at 16,192. India VIX closed lower by 0.20% at 12.4.There were 866 advances, 812 declines and 326 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting a mixed undertone floating in the market .GAIL, Tata Motors and Aurobindo Pharma are the top Nifty gainers, whereas Powergrid Corporation, Bharti Airtel and Cipla are the top Nifty losers.

Nifty Bank for Tuesday’s trade swing between positive and negative zone and currently trading at 24,076 levels up 0.10% as the market near to the closing hour of trade.The S&P BSE Sensex is up 240 points at 31,523, while Nifty is up by 71 points at 9,860. A total of 33 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 37 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Nifty is hovering around 9850 level gaining 0.59% and BSE Sensex gained 191 points slipping marginally from highs. Broader market indices also trimmed marginal gains but continue to trade in the positive zone.

Nifty Bank index and Nifty PSU Bank traded in negative territory. Nifty Bank index slipped 0.01% at 24,051 level majorly dragged by State Bank of India and IDFC Bank.The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31,488 up 204 points, while Nifty is trading at 9847 level gaining 58 points. A total of 30 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 34 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
