The Nifty50 index hit fresh high of 10,179.25, surpassing its previous peak of 10178.95 touched on September 19, 2017.
At 2:05 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32,461, up by 279 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,173 up by 76 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up by 0.17% at 15,986 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up by 0.46% at 16,981.
Bharti Airtel, Infratel, Tata Steel, Ultra Cement Co. And ICICI bank are among the gainers, whereas GAIL, Zee Entertainment, Sun Pharma, UPL, and ITC are losing steam on NSE.
Cyient stock gains 2% after 24.3 lakh shares or 2.2% of equity change hands at Rs 525 each in a single block deal on the BSE.
Logistic stocks gain. Transport Corp (+7%), Patel Int, GATI (+4%), Snowman Logi (+3%), VRL Logistics (+1.5%).
Andhra Bank crosses its 200 day EMA placed at 56.5 and has formed a bullish Hammer candlestick pattern on daily charts.
Some buying activity is seen in Telecom, Basic Materials, consumers goods, Energy, Finance, Power and Tech, while FMCG, Healthcare, and Realty show weakness on BSE.
The INDIA VIX is up by 1.38% at 11.19.
Out of 1,972 stocks traded on the NSE, 897 advanced, 725 declined, and 350 remained unchanged today.
A total of 72 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 16 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
