Bank Nifty is trading higher by 0.5% at 23587 level. Federal Bank, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Yes Bank have been trading higher by around 1%. Private Bank stock, Kotak Bank is trading at around Rs 174.3 per share up by 2.11%. However, all the PSU bank stocks are trading in green zone.

There are 1076 advances, 510 declines and 363 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting strong positive undertone floating in the market.

At 12 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31195 up 99 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9640 up 23 points. A total of 65 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 35 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.5% at 14876, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.8% at 15577.

Some buying activity is seen in Capital Goods, Banks, Pharma, Auto, while IT, Metal are showing weakness on BSE.

ACC, Bosch, Ultratech Cements, Bank of Baroda, HDFC are among the gainers, whereas Tech Mahindra, Vedanta, Tata Motors, Wipro, Eicher Motors are losing sheen on NSE. The INDIA VIX is down 3.21% at 11.05.
