The 50-share Nifty index is expected to open flat on Tuesday following muted trend seen in other Asian markets. Tracking the momentum, the index may retest its crucial psychological level of 8,600 in trade today. Nifty India stock futures in Singapore were trading 2.5 points lower at 8623 indicating a flat opening on the domestic market.

Benchmark indices ended marginally lower on Monday, a day ahead of the monsoon session of parliament where key reforms such as land acquisition bill are expected to be presented. The BSE index ended down 0.15 percent, while the NSE index closed 0.07 percent lower. Investors will keep a close eye on the monsoon session of parliament which will start from today where key reforms such as land acquisition bill are expected to be presented.
