PSU banks witness a sharp surge in closing hour such as Canara bank is up by 8%, Syndicate Bank is up by nearly 10%, Indian Overseas bank is up by 4.3%, Union bank of India is up by 7%, Oriental Bank by 5%.The stocks namely Tata Teleservices, Amtek Auto, Metalyst Forgings and Castex Technologies witnessed sharp surge during closing hours on Friday on BSE.

Tata Teleservices is trading up 19.9% at Rs 8.30, Amtek Auto is up by 18.5% at Rs 39.35, Metalyst Forgings is up by 12.8% at Rs 57 and Castex Technologies is trading up by 15.7% at Rs 9.07. Meanwhile, the BSE Fast Moving Consumer Goods index was losing at closing hours. It was trading at 9429 down by 1.03%. The stock of ITC was majorly contributing to index losses and dragging it to lower levels.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29,948 down 81 points while NSE Nifty is trading at 9313 down 28 points. A total of 85 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 16 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Barometer indices BSE Sensex is trading below 30,000 mark, whereas Nifty50 index has slipped below 9350 levels.The BSE Fast moving consumer goods index is the top losing index in the early hours on Friday, with ITC majorly contributing to the index losses and dragging it to lower levels.The top losing stocks in the index are Venky’s India, Godfrey Phillips India and ITC. The stock of Venky’s India is down by 1.98%, Godfrey Phillips India is down by 1.74 and ITC is down by 1.37%.

Meanwhile, stocks that are gaining in the index are Andrew Yule & Company up by 3.75%, Tilaknagar Industries up by 3% and Jay Shree Tea & Industries up by 3%.The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29,938.35 down 91 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9307 down 34 points. A total of 36 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 10 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.16% at 14796, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.17% at 15306.

Some buying activity is seen in Metal, Automobiles and Basic materials indices, while Energy, Telecom, FMCG and Oil & Gas indices are showing weakness on BSE.Grasim, Bank of Baroda, Tata Steel and Maruti are among the gainers, whereas ITC, Ambuja Cement HDFC Bank and TCS are losing on the NSE.The INDIA VIX is down 1.08% at 10.9.

Tech Mahindra is the top Nifty gainer and HDFC Bank is the top Nifty loser in the morning hours. Tech Mahindra is trading at Rs 428.50 per share up by 0.84% whereas HDFC bank is trading at Rs 1554 per share, down by 0.93%. There are 857 advances, 548 declines and 496 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting some positive bias floating in the market.

The rupee opened at 64.11 per US dollar higher by around 4 paise. On Thursday, the rupee declined to 64.15 per US dollar on month end demand. Nifty50 took a breather after a scintillating rally in the last three trading sessions. Now, going forward, Nifty50 needs to hold above the level of 9,370 to extend its uptrend towards the level of 9,420. On the downside, the level of 9,250 is likely to act as a strong support.

Sensex, which was struggling to touch 30000 mark has finally crossed the 30K mark and seen to be well placed above 30100 level. Sensex closed at 30133 level higher by 190 points. Nifty touched its all-time high of 9367 level in the Wednesday’s trading session. The Nifty has closed higher for the third consecutive trading session at 9351 level up by 45 points.

HDFC and HDFC Bank led the market rally. IT stocks remained under pressure throughout day wherein the Tech Mahindra stock was the biggest loser closed lower by 2.9% at Rs 425.45 per share.

The after-market hours brought good news to the commodities traders that the market regulator SEBI approved the introduction of options trading in the commodities market. In the banking space, the Bank Nifty index touched the fresh 52-week high of 22276 level up by 222 points. Punjab National Bank was the eye-catcher among the banking stocks which closed higher by 3.66% at Rs 167 per share. The private sector bank stocks like HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Kotak Bank while the public-sector bank stocks like State Bank of India and Punjab National Bank were the top contributors to the Bank Nifty’s gains.

The Indian rupee touched its 20-months high of 63.93 per dollar. The shares of Adani Group companies including Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, Adani Power and Adani Transmission cracked up to 14% in the Wednesday’s trading session.

At the time of market closing, the data available with the National Stock Exchange shows that the S Chand IPO got subscribed by 24% on its first day of subscription. One of the most expensive stock on the Indian bourses, MRF Limited closed higher by Rs 2573.4 per share or 3.87% at Rs 69018 per share.

Swaraj Engines Ltd closed higher by 12.71% at Rs 1863.65 per share.

Nucleus Software Exports Ltd. closed higher by 9.58% at Rs 311.2 per share.

Cummins India Ltd. closed higher by 4.15% at Rs 1010 per share.

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. closed higher by 4.08% at Rs 1216.5 per share.

Opening Bell - Sensex Opens At All Time High, Nifty Crosses 9300 Mark

The BSE Sensex opened up by 87 points at 30,030, while the Nifty50 opened higher up by 29 points at 9336 mark. Indiabulls Housing Finance is the top Nifty gainer and Cipla is the top Nifty loser in the morning hours. Indiabulls Housing Finance is trading at Rs 1020 per share up by 0.43% whereas Cipla is trading at Rs 548 per share, down by 0.90%.

There are 954 advances, 408 declines and 349 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting some positive bias floating in the market. The rupee opened at 64.19 per US dollar higher by around 7 paise. The rupee hit its 20-month high of 64.07 per US dollar.

Nifty50 closed above 9,300 for the first time ever on Tuesday. The momentum is likely to continue for the index and Nifty50 index may face resistance in the zone of 9,340-9,365. On the downside, immediate support is seen at the level of 9,270 and the next support at the level of 9,200.

Nifty Ends Above 9300 For First Time Ever, Sensex 57 Points Away From 30k Mark

Benchmark indices NSE Nifty closed at 9306 levels, higher by 88 points or 0.9%, whereas the BSE Sensex closed at 29,943 levels, higher by 287 points or 0.9%. Nifty closed above 9300 for the first time since April 12, 2017. Nifty, Nifty bank, Sensex, Nifty Midcap closed at their record high levels on Tuesday.

Nifty Bank crossed its 22,000 mark on Tuesday and has rallied 20.8% on YTD basis, whereas the Nifty delivered 13.3% returns on YTD basis. PSU banks' rally was majorly responsible to drive the Bank Nifty above the mark of 22000. The index hit the record high of 22070 level, up by 213 points.

Meanwhile, the BSE Mid-cap Index closed up by 0.9% at 14625 while the BSE Small-cap Index closed up by 0.8% at 15291.Bharti Infratel was the top Nifty gainer whereas, Tata Power was the top Nifty loser.

Jain Irrigation Systems Limited (JISL) rallied 7.2% as the investors cheered the freeing from the ban on trades on futures and options contracts. The stock hit a fresh 52-week high of Rs 119.80 per share as soon as the markets opened on Tuesday. It closed at Rs 116.50 per share higher by Rs 5.50 or 4.9%.

The jewellery stocks including TBZ, Gitanjali Gems, Lypsa Gems, Tara Jewels and PC Jewellers traded higher in Tuesday’s session. TBZ saw the highest jump, closing at Rs 97.25 higher by Rs 7.6 or 8.5%.

Nifty Closes Above 9200 For First Time Since April 12, Sensex Rallies 290 Points

Benchmark indices NSE Nifty closed at 9217 levels, higher by 98 points or 1%, whereas the BSE Sensex closed at 29,655 levels, higher by 290 points or 0.9%. Nifty closes above 9200 for first time since April 12, 2017.

ACC Limited was the top Nifty gainer whereas, Lupin Limited was the top Nifty loser. ACC closed at Rs 1608 higher by 7.5%, Lupin closes at Rs 1361 per share down by 3.3%. HDIL surged over 5% as the company announced that it launched a new residential project in Mulund, Mumbai. The stock closed at Rs 91.55 per share, higher by 1.8%.

AGI Infra rallied 11.5% on the BSE as the company announced that it has received approval for project under affordable housing policy 2017. The stock closed at Rs 156 per share higher by 20%. ITI on Monday soared over 15% as the company hitting a high of Rs 104 per share and an intraday low of Rs 96 per share. The stock closed at Rs 105.20 per share higher by 19.9%

ITDC, a state-owned company jumped nearly 13% hitting an intraday high of Rs 747 per share and an intraday low of Rs 650 per share. The stock closed at Rs 719.50 per share higher by 14%.

Indian Bank closed at Rs 284 per share, up by Rs 23 or 9%%.

Bharat Forge closed at by Rs 1135 per share up by Rs 57 or 5.3%.

Reliance Power closed at Rs 49 per share up by Rs 2 or 5%.

Jyoti Structures dipped below 15%, closing at Rs 9.65 per share, lower by 15.7%.While the banking major, HDFC Bank stock surged by 2.3% post normal Q4 results, closing at Rs 1498.70 per share higher by 2.5%.Network 18 Media witnessed a rally of 13% in two sessions since Thursday. The stock closed at Rs 45.30 per share higher by 9%.

GMR Infrastructure closed at Rs 17.65 per share, up by Rs 1.20 or 7.29%.

Meanwhile, Cigniti is down by down by 2.7%, Sasken is down by 1.8%, HGS is down by 1.3%, OFSS is down by 1.2%, Trigyn Tech is down by 1% on the BSE. Tech Mahindra is the major contributor to the sector index gains and is up by 1.4%.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29506 up 83 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9161 up 25 points. A total of 84 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 12 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
