Benchmark index BSE Sensex is hovering around 30,100 mark, whereas Nifty50 index is struggling to hold onto 9350 levels. Tyre stocks saw a slight uptrend in morning sessions such as JK Tyre gained almost 2%, MRF gained 1% and Apollo was up 3%. Other stocks such as Mukta Arts gained 5.7% and Supreme Petrochem was up higher by 8%.
Meanwhile, stocks such as ICICI Bank, Idea Cellular and Reliance Industries slipped in early trade on Thursday. ICICI Bank is down by 1%, Idea Cellular down by 0.23% and Reliance Industries down by 0.64% on NSE. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 30,092.92 down 40 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9342 down 9 points. A total of 48 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 13 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.12% at 14780, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.07% at 15293.Some buying activity is seen in Healthcare, Information Technology and Automobiles indices, while Energy, Telecom, Finance and Bankex indices are showing weakness on BSE. Tata Motors, Cipla, Kotak Bank and Infosys are among the gainers, whereas Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and Lupin are losing on the NSE.The INDIA VIX is down 1.23% at 11.5.
