Benchmark indices NSE Nifty closed at 9119 levels, down by 17 points or 0.1%, whereas the BSE Sensex closed at 29,365 levels, down by 47 points or 0.1%. Markets reversed their opening gains to close in red. While, BSE Mid-cap Index closed up 0.4% at 14546 whereas, BSE Small-cap Index closed up 0.4% at 15240.
Bharti Infratel was the top Nifty gainer whereas, Sun Pharma was the top Nifty loser. HDIL surged over 5% as the company announced that it launched a new residential project in Mulund, Mumbai. The stock closed at Rs 91.55 per share, higher by 1.8%. Jyoti Structures dipped below 15%, closing at Rs 9.65 per share, lower by 15.7%.While the banking major, HDFC Bank stock surged by 2.3% post normal Q4 results, closing at Rs 1498.70 per share higher by 2.5%.Network 18 Media witnessed a rally of 13% in two sessions since Thursday. The stock closed at Rs 45.30 per share higher by 9%.
GMR Infrastructure closed at Rs 17.65 per share, up by Rs 1.20 or 7.29%.
Sun TV Network closed at by Rs 940 per share up by Rs 44.60 or 4.98%.
Piramal Enterprises closed at Rs 2370 per share up by Rs 105.85 or 4.68%.
Bayer Crop science closed at Rs 4278 per share up by Rs 172.80 or 4.21%.
