Reliance Industries Limited is the top contributor to the BSE Energy index gains. The stock touched its fresh 52-week high of Rs 1465 per share in the morning hours on Tuesday. Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited is the top gainer in the BSE Energy index trading higher by 3.14% at Rs 381.85 per share. The other Energy stocks like BPCL, IOC and Hindustan Petroleum are also trading in positive territory.
The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29799 up 144 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9260 up 42 points. A total of 103 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 10 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.8% at 14743, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.6% at 15385. All the sectors on BSE are trading in positive territory.
Bharti Infratel, BPCL, M&M, IOC and Indiabulls Housing Finance are among the gainers, whereas Kotak Bank, Adani Ports, ACC, ITC and Eicher Motors are losing sheen on NSE in the first trading hour. AThe INDIA VIX is down 0.9% at 11.5.
