The Indian stock market opened in the green following Asian cues on the day of derivatives expiry. The BSE Sensex opened 185.78 points up at 26926, while NSE Nifty opened 56.25 points up at 8,260.25.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 26,904 up 163 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,253 up 50 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.74% at 11,657 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.84% at 11,790.

Tata Motors, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Dr.Reddy's, Tata Steel, SBI and NTPC are among the gainers, whereas HDFC Bank, Infosys and Sun Pharmaceuticals are losing sheen on BSE. Some buying activity is seen in realty, consumer durables, auto, banking, industrial and consumer discretionary goods & services sectors, while IT sector is showing weakness on BSE.

The INDIA VIX is up 0.20% at 16.1875. Out of 1,819 stocks traded on the NSE, 460 declined, 1,044 advanced and 315 remained unchanged today. A total of 76 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 14 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Gayatri Projects soared 3.5% to Rs.644. The company has bagged a Rs.306 crore contract for the four laning of a highway on the Andhra Pradesh-Tamil Nadu border from the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (NHDP-IVA Cell).

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 26,968 up 228 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,270 up 66 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.78% at 11,662 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 1.01% at 11,809.

Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, Dr.Reddy's, Axis Bank. NTPC, Hero MotoCorp and SBI are among the gainers, whereas Sunrise Asian, Mphasis, Hind Copper, Den Networks, SPARC and MRF are losing sheen on BSE. All the sectoral indices were trading in the green on BSE. Some buying activity is seen in auto, industrial, power, banking, realty, utilities, capital goods and consumer durables sectors on BSE.

The INDIA VIX is down 1.84% at 15.8575. Out of 1,815 stocks traded on the NSE, 279 declined, 1,189 advanced and 347 remained unchanged today. A total of 61 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while nine stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Sagar Cements jumped 4.3% to Rs.701. The company has accorded its "In Principle" appronval for the acquisition of the entire assests in the grinding unit of 1,81,500 tons per annum capacity in Andhra Pradesh, owned by Toshali Cements at a cost of around Rs.60 crores(including transaction cost).

The Indian stock market is trading higher on on a buying build-up by participants, tracking a global rally. The Nifty and the Sensex opened marginally higher a day ahead of derivatives expiry.The BSE Sensex opened 102.60 points up at 26,627.15 while NSE Nifty opened 45.25 points up at 8.173.10. Domestic sentiment was also buoyed as the Union Cabinet has approved a proposal to revise upwards salaries and pensions for government employees.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 26,668 up 144 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,176 up 53 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.93% at 11,566 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 1.21% at 11,680. Hero MotoCorp, NTPC, Asian Paints, Tata Steel and Tata Motors are among the gainers, whereas HUL, Coal India, ITC and Lupin are losing sheen on BSE.

Some buying activity is seen in realty, auto, consumer durables, capital goods, metal, oil & gas, pharma and utilities sectors on BSE. The INDIA VIX is down 8.60% at 16.2000. Out of 1,819 stocks traded on the NSE, 334 declined, 1,186 advanced and 299 remained unchanged today. A total of 72 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 17 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Suven Life Sciences jumped 3% after the company said in a notice to BSE that it secured three product patents in Europe and Eurasia. DLF soared 8.4% to Rs.145. Billionaire KP Singh and his family is planning to infuse Rs. 10,000 crore into DLF by purchasing shares in a preferential issue with funds raised from the sale of their stake in the company's rental unit, according to reports.

Dr.Reddys Laboratories gained 0.65% to Rs.3287. The company has announced regarding "Closure of Buyback of equity shares of Rs. 5/- each (“Equity Shares”) of the company. ITC slipped 0.50% to Rs.366.50 on BSE. The company will invest Rs.4,000 crore over the next 2-3 years to set up 8-9 factories across the country for manufacturing of food products.

IL&FS Transportation stock was up by 1% at Rs.74. The company reportedly said it has increased its stake in Noida Toll Bridge Company (NTBCL) to Rs 26.37%.

Gujarat Gas rose 7.8% to Rs.563, after the company has been granted permission to develop city gas distribution network (CGD) in Ahmedabad district. The authorization by The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB), however, is for providing natural gas, to urban regions in the district excluding Ahmedabad city areas, where Adani Gas Limited (AGL) already holds the licence to supply PNG and CNG.

The Indian rupee opened higher by 18 paise at 67.77/$ against US Dollar on Tuesday as against the previous close of 67.95/$. Asian markets opened lower on Tuesday, extending the global market sell-off in the wake of the UK vote to leave the European Union. Currently, Hang Seng and Nikkei 225 are trading in red. Shanghai Composite slipped 0.4%.

NSE will file documents in January for an initial public offering (IPO) that would give an exit opportunity to its institutional investors. Standard & Poor’s downgraded UK credit rating on Monday from AAA to AA and warned it could cut it further, according to reports. Britons voted to leave the European Union last week.

US and European stocks closed lower, while the pound fell to a three-decade low against the dollar. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 1.5% at 17,140.24 points, the S&P 500 index closed down 1.81% at 2,000.54 points and the Nasdaq Composite finished down 2.41% at 4,594.44 points.

The INDIA VIX is down 0.13% at 18.6025. Out of 1,821 stocks traded on the NSE, 320 declined, 1,225 advanced and 276 remained unchanged today. A total of 48 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 23 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Man Infraconstruction Ltd stock was higher by 3% at Rs.44. Report says that one of India's ace investors, Radhakishan Damani, acquired shares in the company.

The Indian rupee opened lower by 12 paise at 68.04/$ against US Dollar on Monday as against the previous close of 67.96/$. Asian markets are trading on a mixed note. Hang Seng trading dropped 0.92%. Shanghai Composite and Nikkei 225 are trading higher by 1% each.

About eight of the top 10 most valued Indian companies together lost Rs.27,727.1 crore to their market valuation. While TCS, RIL, HDFC Bank, ITC, CIL, HDFC, HUL and ONGC suffered with losses, while Infosys and Sun Pharma saw increase in their market valuation.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 26,347 down 655 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,063 down 207 points.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 1.42% at 11,273, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 1.72% at 11,249.

Muthoot Finance, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, Manappuram Finance, Natco Pharma and SPARC are among the gainers, whereas Tata Motors, Tata Steel, L&T, ICICI Bank, SBI, Axis Bank, ONGC and RIL are losing sheen on BSE.

On the economy front, Raghuram G Rajan, Governor said that it looks increasingly clear that the United Kingdom has voted to exit the European Union. Markets are trying to factor the consequences of this development and this has already led to sharp corrections in financial markets around the world.
