Finally, the BSE Sensex ended with a gain of 237 points at 27,002. The BSE Sensex opened at 26,753 touched an intra-day high of 27,061 and low of 26,737. The NSE Nifty closed with a gain of 67 points at 8,270. The NSE Nifty opened at 8,201 hitting a high of 8,286 and low of 8,188.
The stock markets continue to trade higher on the back of buying in banking, auto and pharma stocks.
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty move higher mirroring gains in the European stock markets. European markets open higher as Britain votes on referendum whether to remain or leave European Union. The BSE Sensex opened 12.45 points down at 26,753.20, while Nifty opened 2.55 points down at 8,201.15.
The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 27,003 up 236 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,271 up 67 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.28% at 11,437, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.18% at 11,470.
Tata Motors, DR.Reddy's SBI, Sun Pharma, ITC, Lupin, HDFC Bank and Axis Bank are among the gainers, whereas NTPC, Cipla, TCS, ONGC and RIL are losing sheen on BSE.
