The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 26,692 down 22 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,167 down 13 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.27% at 11,362, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 0.06% at 11,157.
Tata Motors, Coal India, Infosys, Wipro, M&M, HUL, HDFC Bank, Tata Steel and NTPC are among the gainers, whereas ITC, Bajaj – Auto, L&T, Axis Bank, Cipla, Asian Paints and Sun Pharma are losing sheen on BSE.
Some buying activity is seen in IT, teck, realty and basic materials sectors, while telecom, oil and gas, banking, pharma and FMCG are showing weakness on BSE. The INDIA VIX is down 0.66% at 15.7300. Out of 1,803 stocks traded on the NSE, 833 declined, 617 advanced and 353 remained unchanged today.
A total of 46 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 34 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. The Indian rupee opened higher by 4 paise at 67.41/$ against US Dollar on Thursday as against the previous close of 67.45/$. In the cross currency space, Japanese Yen registered strong move against the greenback, garnering strength from PM Abe’s decision to delay sales tax hike by two and half years.
