The BSE Sensex opened at 26459.33 down 166.58 points; NSE Nifty dropped to 8112.10 down 58.10 points. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 26,793 up 167 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,203 up 33 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.25 % at 11,387, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.31% at 11,470. Dr.Reddy's, Infosys, TCS, ONGC, L&T, Cipla and M&M are among the gainers, whereas Axis Bank, Asian Paints, Coal India, Power Grid, Lupin, ITC and Sun Pharma are losing sheen on BSE.
Some buying activity is seen in realty, capital goods, IT, auto and teck sectors, while utilities, finance, pharma, banking, and FMCG sectors are showing weakness on BSE. The INDIA VIX is up 1.31% at 17.5775. Out of 1,823 stocks traded on the NSE, 669 declined, 849 advanced and 305 remained unchanged today.
A total of 32 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 21 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. Unitech Ltd stock was higher by 4% at Rs.5.87.Court orders proceedings against Unitech, top bosses for cheating. The company has clarified that Unitech is a professionally managed company and Directors are not involved its day-to-day affairs.
