Market slipped from its highs but continues to trade in positive zone paring mild gains. Broader market indices are trading bullish gaining nearly 1%.Nifty bank gained 128 point or 0.53% at 24,136 levels majorly contributed by Federal Bank and HDFC Bank.

HDFC twins and ICICI Bank are contributing majorly to Sensex gains and pushing the index to trade higher. GAIL is the most active stock by value, trading higher by 6.17% at Rs 420.70 per share and Jaiprakash Associates is the most active stock by volume trading higher by 7.83% at Rs 17.90 per share.

Nifty is trading at its high point of the day up by 78% and BSE Sensex gained 0.70% indicating positive breadth floating in the market. The new entrants of the Nifty 50 index viz. HPCL, Bajaj Finance and UPL were witnessing an upward momentum during Friday’s trade.

Among these, HPCL was the top gainer and was trading at Rs 429.80 per share, up by Rs 13.70 or 3.29% as at 1220 hours on Friday, on the NSE. Going forward, recovery in HDFC twin stocks may pull the major indices from their lower levels. Nifty’s stiff resistance may be placed at 9,900 while on the downside, 9,800 acts as strong support. In the currency market, the rupee depreciated further by 0.15% to 65.54 per US Dollar.

Nifty ended at 9,871 level, down by 1 point, while Sensex closed at 31,599 level, down by 26 points on Tuesday. The 50-stocks index lost 60 points to touch its intraday low of 9,813. However, the index started recovering in the afternoon hours and managed to end above the important mark of 9,850.

Bulls were dominating the markets in the Tuesday’s trading session. There were 1,029 advances, 622 declines and 315 unchanged stocks on NSE. India VIX ended lower by 1.53% at 13.13 level. HDFC twins, TCS and Hindustan Unilever contributed the most to the weakness of major benchmark indices.

In the broader markets, BSE Mid-cap index closed at 15,500 level, up by 67 points while BSE Small-cap index closed at 16,136 level, up by 173 points. Bank Nifty ended at 24,199 level, up by 34 points or 0.14%. Axis Bank was the top gainer in the index closing at Rs 512.7 per share, up by Rs 11 per share or 2.19%. Nifty Realty index was the top gainer among the sectoral indices on NSE. The index ended at 271.5 level, up by 2.69%.

Avenue Supermarts: The stock touched its record high of Rs 1,218 per share, up by or Rs 189 points or 18.36%.

ONGC: The stock ended higher by 4% or Rs 5.5 per share at Rs 171.4 per share on NSE.

Nifty ended at 9,964.4 level, down by 157.5 points, while Sensex closed at 31,922 level, down by 447 points on Friday. Nifty and Sensex witnessed biggest 10-day fall in the past 10 months. There were 207 advances, 1,464 declines and 290 unchanged stocks on NSE, reflecting strong negative sentiments floating in the market.

Metal stocks witnessed strong downward movement. Nifty Metal index closed at 3,491.8 level, down by 4.04%. Hindalco was the top Nifty loser. The stock closed at Rs 232.7 per share, down by 4.85%. HCL Technologies was the top Nifty gainer, trading at Rs 882.9 per share, up by 1.45% or Rs 12.6 per share.

In the broader markets, BSE Mid-cap index closed at 15,609 level, down by 2.71% while BSE Small-cap index closed at 16,293 level, down by 2.93%.
Bank Nifty ended at 24,368 level, down by 430 points or 1.74%. Yes Bank was the top loser in the index closing at Rs 361.45 per share, down by Rs 15.6 per share or 4.14%. The index witnessed biggest intraday fall since November 21, 2016.

Nifty is not showing any signs of strong recovery. It has been hovering marginally above the important mark of 10,000. Nifty Metal index is top loser among the sectoral indices on NSE. The index is trading at 3,539 level, down by 99 points or 2.74%. National Aluminium is top loser in the index trading lower by more than 5.5% at Rs 77.3 per share. Jindal Steel and Welspun corporation are also down by more than 5%. Other metal stocks including SAIL, Hindalco, NMDC and Vedanta are also trading lower by more than 3%.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32,043 down by 326 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9,996 down by 125 points. A total of 32 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 13 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.HCL Technologies, Tata Motors, Cipla and Bharti Infratel are among the gainers, whereas Yes Bank, Hindalco, Ultratech Cement, Vedanta and IOC are losing sheen in the Nifty50 index.

Nifty 50 index has breached the important mark of 10,000 during the afternoon hours. Bank Nifty index touched its intraday low of 24,404. It is trading lower by 1.41% at 24,448 level.Yes Bank is top loser in the Bank Nifty index trading at Rs 361.35 per share, down by 4.16%. Canara Bank, Federal Bank and ICICI Bank are also trading in negative territory, down by more than 2%.

Among other bank stocks in the index including Bank of Baroda, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, PNB, IDFC Bank and SBI are also trading in negative terrain, down by more than 1%. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32,045 down by 324 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,000 down by 121 points. A total of 31 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 13 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
