Nifty has been moving downwards to touch lower lows in the closing hours as the news came in the market that the Indian Army has conducted the surgical strike alongside the border of Myanmar.
The index is trading down by more than 130 points and Sensex has plunged by more than 400 points in the closing hour. There are 44 declines and 7 advances in the 50-stocks index showing strong negative undertone in the market.
The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31,183 down by 416 points, while Nifty is trading at 9,729 down by 142 points. A total of 18 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 45 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. There are 266 advances, 1,376 declines and 319 unchanged stocks showing mixed sentiments in the market.
