There is a volatile trade seen on the bourses during the morning trade. Nifty has seen 100 points movement in the downward direction after opening above the 9,900 mark. The index has touched its intraday low of 9,804, tad above the strong support of 9,800 level.
However, the index has marginally recovered from the low point of the day. Metal and pharma stocks slipped further. Nifty Metal is top losing index among the sectoral indices on NSE trading lower by 1.21% at 3,490 level. MOIL declined by 3.46% at Rs 188.45 per share after turning ex-bonus issue.
Going forward, recovery in HDFC twin stocks may pull the major indices from their lower levels. Nifty’s stiff resistance may be placed at 9,900 while on the downside, 9,800 acts as strong support. In the currency market, the rupee depreciated further by 0.15% to 65.54 per US Dollar.
The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31,401 down by 198 points, while Nifty is trading at 9,817 down by 54 points. A total of 15 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 19 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. There are 675 advances, 873 declines and 411 unchanged stocks showing mixed sentiments in the market.
