Nifty has recovered in the afternoon hours from its low point of the day. The index has pared almost all the morning losses. Broader market indices in the market have turned positive and gaining grounds on the bourses. Torrent Pharma is top gainer in the mid-cap segment trading higher by 4.5% at Rs 1288 per share. Balasore is top gainer in the small-cap segment trading higher by Rs 62 per share, up by 10.64%.
There are 1,071 advances, 573 declines and 321 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting that the bulls are trying to take charge on D Street. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31,612 down by 14 points, while Nifty is trading at 9,864 down by 7 points. A total of 10 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 36 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.ONGC, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Vedanta, Sun Pharma and Hindalco are among the gainers, whereas BPCL, Asian Paints, Hindustan Unilever, Dr Reddy’s Labs and HDFC are losing sheen in the Nifty50 index.
