Markets End At Record Closing High

Nifty ended today’s trade at 10,077 level gaining 62 points, whereas BSE Sensex closed higher gaining 205 points at 32,514 level. State Bank of India was the top Nifty gainer on Monday’s trade. State Bank of India closed higher by 4.58% at Rs 312.80 per share.BSE Mid-cap index closed higher by 0.39% at 15,389. BSE Small-cap index closed higher by 0.14% at 16,039. India VIX closed higher by 6.8% at 11.9.

There were 786 advances, 892 declines and 291 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting a negative undertone floating in the market.Bank Nifty closed above 25,000 level for the first time ever. PSU bank stocks roared on Monday’s trade after SBI introduced a 2-tier saving bank interest rate with effect from July 31, 2017. According to the bank, for balance above Rs 1 crore will continue to earn interest at 4% per annum, but for balances below Rs 1 crore, the bank has cut interest rate at 3.5% per annum.

Other PSU Bank stocks namely Bank of Baroda closed up 2.94% at Rs 166.30 per share, Punjab National Bank closed up 2.3% at Rs 162.70 per share and Bank of India closed up 2.31% at Rs 166.00 per share.Jewellery stock glittered in today’s trade. Thangamayil Jewellery closed at Rs 324.00 per share, up by 3.96%, PC Jeweller closed at Rs 258.00 per share, up by 3.74% and Gitanjali Gems closed at Rs 64.oo per share, up by or 0.71%.

The sugar stocks were also buzzing during Monday’s trade. As reported by a leading news agency, the government is seeing 2017-18 sugar output at around 24 mt vs 20.3 mt (YoY).Among other sugar majors, Dwarikesh Sugar Industries closed up by 7.58% at Rs 514.00 per share, Dhampur Sugar Mills closed up by 5.81% at Rs 245.00 per share and Uttam Sugar Mills closed up by 4.35% at Rs 167.95 per share.

Nifty has been trading range-bound. Support remains unchanged at 9945 levels. Bank Nifty has hit its all-time high of 25168 level as the State Bank of India (SBI) lend support to the index.Largest lender in the country, State Bank of India (SBI) has introduced a 2-tier saving bank interest rate with effect from July 31, 2017. While balance above Rs 1 crore will continue to earn interest at 4% per annum, the interest rate at 3.5% per annum shall be offered on balances of Rs 1 crore and below.

SBI is top gainer in the index trading at Rs 310.05 per share, up by Rs 10.95 per share or 3.66%. The stock has touched its fresh 52-week high of Rs 315.3 per share.There were 845 advances, 781 declines and 315 unchanged stocks on BSE reflecting mixed sentiments floating in the market. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32471 up 161 points, while Nifty is trading at 10054 up 39 points. A total of 52 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 26 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Nifty closed at 10014 level, down by 6 points while Sensex closed at 32309 level, down by 73 points. Nifty managed to close above the psychologically important level of 10000.Yes Bank was top Nifty gainer closed at Rs 1844 per share, up by 3.21% whereas Dr. Reddy’s was top Nifty loser closed at Rs 2465.2 per share, down by 5.92%. There were 646 advances, 743 declines and 53 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting negative sentiments in floating in the market.

Bank Nifty index closed at 24811 level down by 111 points or 0.45%. Yes Bank and PNB were top gainers in the index. Canara Bank and IDFC Bank gained over 2% to close at around Rs 364.35 per share and Rs 60.6 per share respectively. Nifty Pharma index was the top losing index among the sectoral indices on NSE. The index closed at 9672 level, down by 2.1%. Lupin and Sun Pharma closed at around Rs 1066.9 per share and Rs 550 per share respectively, down by over 3%.

Nifty Metal index was also one of the top loser in the index closed at 3207 level, down by 1.33%. Hindalco, Vedanta and Jindal Steel were top losers in metal sector which lost over 2% in their share prices.Jaiprakash Associates was most active stock by volume on NSE in Friday’s trading session. The stock attracted total traded volume of 15,93,42,768 shares and total traded value of Rs 471.97 crore. The stock touched its fresh 52-week high of Rs 30.45 per share on NSE. However, it closed almost flat at Rs 29.55 per share.

Nifty and Sensex closed almost flat at 10,020 and 32,383 level, respectively. Nifty was holding its morning gains till the fag end, but a sharp downfall in ITC and Reliance Industries in the closing hour dragged the index.

Nifty had biggest absolute gains in July derivative contract series, since March 2016. The index reported 5.3% gains in the July series. Sensex gained 5%, Bank Nifty gained 7.6%, Nifty Mid-cap index gained 4.4% and BSE Small-cap index gained 4.6% in the series ended today.

In the broader market indices, BSE Mid-cap and Small-cap index had a jolly ride in the morning hour. BSE mid-cap index touched its all-time high of 15,441 level in the morning hours. The index closed at 15,255 level, down by 0.55%. BSE Small-cap index closed at 16,015 level down by 0.52%.

Advances declines ratio was in favour of declines. There were 346 advances, 1,031 declines and 33 unchanged stocks on NSE, showing that bears dominated the bulls on the bourse.

HDFC was the stock of the day which touched its fresh 52-week high of Rs 1,742.8, up by Rs 109.55 per share or 6.7% on BSE. The stock closed at Rs 1,723.95, up by Rs 90.7 per share or 5.55%. Despite the heavyweight stocks HDFC and HDFC Bank being in the positive territory, major indices could not witness any further upsurge to new highs.

Heavyweight stocks on the bourses had mixed performance on Thursday. Yes Bank gained nearly 5% to touch its fresh 52-week high of Rs 1,798 per share on NSE. The stock closed at around Rs 1,783 per share, up by over 4%. It was the most active stock by value on NSE. ITC lost around 1.62% in its share price to end at Rs 288.65 per share on BSE.

Maruti Suzuki reported increase in its profits for Q1FY18 on Y-o-Y basis. The stock touched its fresh 52-week high of Rs 7,683.4 per share, up by 1.56%. The stock closed at Rs 7592.3 per share, marginally up by 0.19% on BSE.

Dr Reddy’s, HCL Technologies, Aditya Birla Fashion disappointed the investors by posting weak results for the quarter ended June 30, 2017. ITC has not yet reported their Q1FY18 results and is expected to announce the results in the post-market hours.

It is also top gainer in Nifty50 and Sensex and has been contributing the most to their gains. Sahara housing is second top gainer trading at Rs 75.95 per share, up by nearly 5%. Coral India Finance is up by 4.91% at Rs 290.7 per share.

IND Bank Housing was up by 4.82% at Rs 23.9 per share. Gruh Finance and Can Fin Homes are up by over 1%. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32546 up 164 points, while Nifty is trading at 10074 up 53 points. A total of 69 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 19 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Nifty closed at 9,964 level, down by 1.85 points, while Sensex closed at 32,228 level, down by 17 points on Tuesday, erasing the day’s gains. Nifty touched the 10,000 mark for the first time ever right at the opening bell but slipped thereafter in afternoon trade. Sensex also touched its all-time high of 32,374 level.

Vedanta was the top Nifty gainer, closing at Rs 275.75 per share, up by 4.2%, whereas Zee Entertainment was the top Nifty loser closing at Rs 535 per share, down by 2.96%. India VIX was down by 1.87% at 11.1 level.

Broader market indices were trading in line with the major indices on Tuesday. BSE Mid-cap index closed at 15,312 level, up by 86 points, while BSE Small-cap index closed at 16,054 level, up by 18 points. BSE Mid-cap index touched its lifetime high of 15,322 level.

Bank Nifty touched its record high of 24,624 in Tuesday’s trade and ended at 24,520 level, up by 99 points. Axis Bank ended with the gains of 2.4% at around Rs 547.4 per share. The stock was the top gainer in Bank Nifty index.

BSE Telecom index was the top gaining index through the day ending at 1,478 level, up by 2.04%. Idea Cellular was the buzzing stock on Tuesday. The stock gained 8.4% to touch its intraday high of Rs 99.6 per share on BSE. The company received the Competition Commission of India’s (CCI) approval for its proposed merger with Vodafone Mobile Services Limited.

Salasar Techno Engineering after listing at a whopping 140% premium as against its issue price of Rs 108 per share, got locked in its upper circuit. The stock got locked in its upper circuit of 5% at Rs 272.1 per share as against its opening price of Rs 259.15 per share.

Asian Paints reported 20.2% decline in its consolidated profit for Q1FY18 on y-o-y basis. The stock ended in the negative territory at around Rs 1,148 per share. Delta Corp and Just Dial reported a decline in their net profits.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises announced on Monday that the company’s board of directors have granted an approval for acquisition of 100% equity stake in India Webportal Private Limited (IWPL).The company has already completed the requisite formalities and has acquired the balance 49% equity stake in IWPL comprising of 12.2 crore equity shares. The stock closed lower by 0.91 % at Rs 551.00 per share.Amtek Auto soared to 4.88% at Rs 31.15 per share on BSE. Benchmark indices are still showing their urge to trade high. BSE Sensex is trading above its 32,200 level whereas Nifty is trading range bound in pre-lunch hours.BSE Energy is the top gaining index during pre-lunch hours on Monday. It is up by 1.12% at 3738.Reliance Industries is majorly contributing to the index gains and pushing it to higher levels.Reliance Industries is up 2.3% at Rs 1623.05 per share.

Other stocks viz. Gujarat NRE Coke is up 19.7% at Rs 1.88 per share, Hindustan oil Exploration is up 5.3% at Rs 79.25 per share, Alphageo is up 1.1% at Rs 882.50 per share and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation is up 0.9% at Rs 370.90 per share. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32,347 up 218 points, while Nifty is trading at 9968 up 53 points. A total of 77 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 20 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Markets are trading on a bullish mood wherein BSE Sensex is trading above 32,200 level and Nifty closing to trade in 10,000 level.Infosys, ITC and Reliance Industries are majorly contributing to index gains. Reliance Industries is the top gainer in the Nifty50 index.Reliance Industries is trading up 2.4% at Rs 1623.80 per share, Infosys is up 0.83% at Rs 988.20 per share and ITC is up 1.6% at Rs 293.55 per share.

Nifty PSU Bank is the top gaining index on Monday. It is up by 1.10% at 3549. Allahabad Bank is majorly contributing to the index gains and pushing it to higher level.Allahabad Bank is trading higher by 4.22% at Rs 75.40 per share.Other stocks in the index viz. Andhra Bank is up 2.8% at Rs 58.35 per share, Oriental Bank of Commerce is up 2.2% at Rs 153.10 per share, Bank of Baroda is up 1.9% at Rs 164.85 per share and Bank of India is up 1.9% at Rs 157.85 per share. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32,219 up 190 points, while Nifty is trading at 9963 up 48 points. A total of 74 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 18 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Opening Bell – Market Opens At Record High

The BSE Sensex opened higher 53 points at 32,135 while the Nifty 50 opened higher by 15 points at 9939 mark.Lupin is the top Nifty gainer trading at Rs 1161.60 per share, up by 2.71% whereas Bharti Infratel was the top Nifty loser trading at Rs 407.15 per share, down 0.77%. BSE Mid-cap index was trading at 15203 level, up 0.12% and BSE Small-cap index was trading at 16060 level, up by 0.42%.

Nifty Bank also opened its trade on Monday’s intraday session on fresh record highs. It opened at 24,307 level, gaining 5.80 points or 0.03% on Monday’s intra-day trade.There were 956 advances, 519 declines and 464 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting positive sentiments floating in the market.

NSE Nifty closed at 9,915 up 41 points, whereas BSE Sensex closed higher 124 points at 32,028. BSE Mid-cap index closed higher by 0.04% at 15,185. BSE Small-cap index closed lower by 0.05% at 15,992. India VIX closed 2.5% at 11.02.There were 732 advances, 907 declines and 321 unchanged stocks on NSE, reflecting a negative undertone floating in the market.

Wipro, Reliance Industries and Zee Entertainment Enterprise were the top Nifty gainers, whereas Bharti Airtel, Indiabulls Housing Finnace and Power Grid Corporation of India were the top Nifty losers.Reliance Industries Ltd, in a BSE filing on Friday, said that the board of directors of the company at its meeting held on July 21, 2017, has recommended issue of bonus shares to the members of the company in the ratio of 1:1, i.e. one bonus share for every one share held.

Wipro soared 6.4% at Rs 286.30 per share as the company’s board has approved a share buyback on Thursday, the company informed the bourses. The board approved a proposal to buy back 34,37,50,000 equity shares of the company of Rs 2 face value for an aggregate amount of Rs 11,000 crore. The stock closed at 6.5% at Rs 286.60 per share.Vikas WSP, in a BSE filing on Friday, said that the company has received export orders worth Rs 119 crore for new guar gum product 'Thermo Guar-30'. The stock of the company breached upper circuit at Rs 10.30 and witnessed a spurt in volume by 2.92 times during Friday’s trade on the BSE. The stock closed up 9.9% at Rs 10.30 per share on BSE.
