Liquor stocks gain after SC observed prima facie that it does not intend to interfere with moves of the local governments to classify some highways as district roads. Tilaknagar Industries soared 6.5%, United Spirits soared 2.5%, United Breweries soared 2%. PSU Banking Index is up 1%, IDBI Bank clocking gains of 3%, Andhra Bank is up by 1.6%, Union Bank is up by 1.5% and Bank of Baroda up by 1%.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31220 up 10 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9622 up 9 points. A total of 37 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 11 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
