Nifty regained its 9800 level after sliding marginally from its highs. Sensex traded above 31,800 level.Nifty Metal is the top losing index in Tuesday’s morning session. It is down 0.24% at 3122 level.Vedanta and Coal India are dragging the index to lower levels, Vedanta is trading down 0.3% at Rs 259.90 per share and Coal India is trading down 0.5% at Rs 257.45 per share.

Other stocks in the index viz. Jindal Steel & Power is down 1.8% at Rs 131.95 per share, National Aluminium Company is down 1.2% at Rs 67.10 per share, JSW Steel is down 0.8% at Rs 216.25 per share, SAIL is down 0.3% at Rs 62.75 per share and APL Apollo Tubes is also down by 0.04% at Rs 1599.90 per share.The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31,805 up 90 points, while Nifty is trading at 9802 up 31 points. A total of 48 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 8 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
