While benchmarks indices are touching new record levels, broader market index BSE mid-cap dipped to trade in negative territory.The BSE Metal is one of the top gaining indices on Monday. It is up by 0.93% at 12073.92. Vedanta is majorly contributing to the index gains and pulling it to higher level.
Vedanta is trading higher by 2.19% at Rs 268.20 per share.Other stocks in the index viz. Jindal Steel is up 2.2% at Rs 140.30 per share, Hindustan Zinc is up 1.5% at Rs 278.20 per share, Hindalco is up 1.4% at Rs 208.30 per share and JSW Steel is up 1.3% at Rs 217.50 per share. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32,095 up 74 points, while Nifty is trading at 9912 up 25 points. A total of 48 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 17 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
