Nifty turned choppy in the afternoon hour and is continued to trade between 10030-10040 levels. Support level for the index remains unchanged at 9945 levels. On the other hand, Bank Nifty has extended its upswing, heading towards its immediate resistance of 25032.
Bank Nifty was trading at 25019 level, up by 208 points or 0.84%. Bank of Baroda was top gainer in the index trading at Rs 167.25 per share, up by Rs 5.7 per share or 3.53%. SBI is the second top gainer in the index trading at Rs 308.35 per share, up by Rs 9.25 per share or 3.09%. ICICI Bank and PNB were up by over 2%.
There were 1281 advances, 1061 declines and 137 unchanged stocks on BSE reflecting mixed sentiments floating in the market. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32444 up 134 points, while Nifty is trading at 10041 up 27 points. A total of 46 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 25 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
