NSE Nifty closed at 9,915 up 41 points, whereas BSE Sensex closed higher 124 points at 32,028. BSE Mid-cap index closed higher by 0.04% at 15,185. BSE Small-cap index closed lower by 0.05% at 15,992. India VIX closed 2.5% at 11.02.There were 732 advances, 907 declines and 321 unchanged stocks on NSE, reflecting a negative undertone floating in the market.

Wipro, Reliance Industries and Zee Entertainment Enterprise were the top Nifty gainers, whereas Bharti Airtel, Indiabulls Housing Finnace and Power Grid Corporation of India were the top Nifty losers.Reliance Industries Ltd, in a BSE filing on Friday, said that the board of directors of the company at its meeting held on July 21, 2017, has recommended issue of bonus shares to the members of the company in the ratio of 1:1, i.e. one bonus share for every one share held.

Wipro soared 6.4% at Rs 286.30 per share as the company’s board has approved a share buyback on Thursday, the company informed the bourses. The board approved a proposal to buy back 34,37,50,000 equity shares of the company of Rs 2 face value for an aggregate amount of Rs 11,000 crore. The stock closed at 6.5% at Rs 286.60 per share.Vikas WSP, in a BSE filing on Friday, said that the company has received export orders worth Rs 119 crore for new guar gum product 'Thermo Guar-30'. The stock of the company breached upper circuit at Rs 10.30 and witnessed a spurt in volume by 2.92 times during Friday’s trade on the BSE. The stock closed up 9.9% at Rs 10.30 per share on BSE.
