The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 26,429 up 31 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,099 up 11 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.44% at 11,355, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.76% at 11,364.

DR.Reddy's, SBI, Adani Ports, Axis Bank, L&T, Hero MotoCorp and HUL are among the gainers, whereas TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Steel and Power Grid are losing sheen on BSE. Some buying activity is seen in realty, capital goods, banking, pharma, oil & gas, FMCG and metal sectors, while IT, telecom and teck sectors are showing weakness on BSE.

The INDIA VIX is up 1.50% at 18.9075. Out of 1,796 stocks traded on the NSE, 277 declined, 1,156 advanced and 251 remained unchanged today. A total of 20 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 64 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The Indian rupee opened lower by 12 paise at 68.04/$ against US Dollar on Monday as against the previous close of 67.96/$. Asian markets are trading on a mixed note. Hang Seng trading dropped 0.92%. Shanghai Composite and Nikkei 225 are trading higher by 1% each.

About eight of the top 10 most valued Indian companies together lost Rs.27,727.1 crore to their market valuation. While TCS, RIL, HDFC Bank, ITC, CIL, HDFC, HUL and ONGC suffered with losses, while Infosys and Sun Pharma saw increase in their market valuation.
