After opening on flat note, indices were stuck in a narrow trading range throughout the day. Finally, the BSE Sensex ended with a loss of 66 points at 26,777. The BSE Sensex opened at 26,898 touched an intra-day high of 26,901 and low of 26,729.The NSE Nifty closed with a loss of 20 points at 8,201. The NSE Nifty opened at 8,229 hitting a high of 8,235 and low of 8,186.
The India VIX (Volatility) index was up 2.40% at 15.3550. Bank of Baroda, Tata Motors, Yes Bank, UltraTech Cement, Eicher Motors, M&M, SBI, Hindalco, GAIL and L&T were among the gainers on NSE, whereas Bharti Airtel, Lupin, Bharti Infratel, Tech Mahindra, Sun Pharma, Maruti Suzuki and Axis Bank were among the losers today.
the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 26,753 down 89 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,216 down 27 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.20% at 11,372, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.08% at 11,157.
SBI, GAIL, M&M, SBI, Cipla, ICICI Bank, BHEL, L&T, ITC, and BHEL are among the gainers, whereas Axis Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Bharti Airtel, Lupin, Wipro, Coal India,. Adani Ports, TCS and Sun Pharma are losing sheen on BSE.
Some buying activity is seen in realty, capital goods, banking, IT and finance sectors, while consumer durables, telecom, metal, oil and gas, teck, power, pharma, FMCG and energy are showing weakness on BSE.
The INDIA VIX is up 2.36% at 15.3500. Out of 1,818 stocks traded on the NSE, 835 declined, 691 advanced and 293 remained unchanged today. A total of 33 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 45 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
