The BSE Sensex opened lower by 26 points at 29435, while the Nifty50 opened lower by 4 points at the 9144 mark.Dr Reddy’s is the top Nifty gainer and Sun Pharma is the top Nifty loser in the morning hours. Dr Reddy’s is trading higher by 2.8% at Rs 2715 per share whereas Sun Pharma is trading lower by 2.9% at Rs 672.5 per share.
The rupee opened flat at 64.42 per dollar. The international gold price is trading at five months high amidst ongoing geo political tensions. In the Indian market, MCX spot gold hit a one-month high of Rs 29,313 per 10 grams on April 13.
The Asian markets are trading mostly lower in the Monday’s trading session. SGX Nifty is trading flat at 9156 level, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading lower by 39 points at 18295 level, Hang Seng index is trading lower by 24 points at 3144 level, Shanghai Composite index is trading lower by 34 points at 3211 level.The US financial markets were closed on Friday on account of Good Friday.
