The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 26,486.27, up 136 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,170.35, up 43 points. Out of 1,868 stocks traded on the NSE, 264 declined, 1214 advanced and 390 remained unchanged today.A total of 18 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 7 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.88% at 12410, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 1.10% at 12240.
Eicher Motors, Idea, Gail, HDFC, Coal India, Maruti, Tata Steel are among the gainers, whereas Infosys, TCS, Axis Bank, NTPC, Hero Motors, HUL, Lupin are losing sheen on NSE in the morning trading hours.
Buying activity is seen in Auto, Metal, Oil & Gas, Banking, Capital Goods sectors, while Information Technology, Telecommunications, Power, Utilities sectors are showing weakness on BSE. The INDIA VIX is down 6.46% at 16.8875.
