SGX Nifty indicated a negative opening for the Indian markets. Markets are expected to be under pressure in today’s trade. Bajaj Auto, Hindalco, Tata Global Beverages and United Breweries are some of the large-cap companies set to announce their Q3 results today.
Global markets: Major Asian markets are trading in the red at present. Nikkei is down 1.30%, Shanghai Composite is trading 0.93% lower, while Hang Seng is trading flat up 0.05%.
US markets: The major averages witnessed choppy trading in yesterday’s session. The Dow inched up 0.1% to 26,186.71, the Nasdaq fell 0.4% to 7,385.86 and the S&P 500 edged down 0.1% to 2,821.98.
Choppy trading on the Wall Street came as traders seemed reluctant to make significant moves ahead of the release of the closely monitored monthly jobs report that would be released today.
European markets also closed in the red yesterday with FTSE down 0.58%, CAX down 0.50% and with DAX closing 1.43% lower.
FII Data: In yesterday’s session, FII’s bought 1,009 crore stock in the cash market, while DII’s sold 385 crore worth of stock. In the derivative market, FII’s sold 168 crore of Index futures and sold 714 crore worth of Index options. In the Stock futures segment, FII’s bought 752 crore worth of stock futures and sold 45 crore stock options.
