The Nifty Metal index was up 1.5% at 4,084.25 points.Shares of metal companies rose after prices of base metals jumped globally in overnight and early trade today.
Shares of Vedanta, MOIL, Hindalco Industries, Hindustan Zinc, National Aluminium Co, Jindal Steel & Power, Hindustan Copper, JSW Steel, and Tata Steel rose 1-3%.
The Nifty Metal index was up 1.5% at 4,084.25 points.
Vedanta Ltd is currently trading at Rs326.6, up by Rs11.05 or 3.5% from its previous closing of Rs315.55 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs319 and has touched a high and low of Rs328 and Rs319, respectively.
MOIL Ltd is currently trading at Rs233.65, up by Rs3.3 or 1.43% from its previous closing of Rs230.35 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs230.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs236.5 and Rs230.05, respectively.
JSW Steel Ltd is currently trading at Rs311.15, up by Rs2.05 or 0.66% from its previous closing of Rs309.1 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs309.5 and has touched a high and low of Rs314.4 and Rs309.45, respectively.
Hindalco Industries Ltd is currently trading at Rs251.5, up by Rs8.2 or 3.37% from its previous closing of Rs243.3 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs245.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs253.05 and Rs244.35, respectively.
