Markets are expected to be under selling pressure in today’s session, as the sell-off in global equities intensifies.

Bank Of Baroda, Bata, BPCL, HPCL, Marico, ONGC, SBI, Sun TV and Tata Steel are some of the large-cap companies set to announce their Q3 results today.

Global markets
Major Asian markets are trading with deep cuts, at present Nikkei is down 3.33%, Shanghai Composite is trading 5.55% lower while Hang Seng is trading down 4.14%.

US Markets: Wall Street witnessed another session of heavy sell-off with the selling pressure intensifying in the final hours of trade.

The Dow shed 4.2%, to 23,860, and has corrected more than 10% from its high set in Jan.

The S&P 500 index closed 3.8% lower at 2,581, while the Nasdaq Composite Index dipped 3.9%, ending at 6,777.

The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) spiked 28%.

Traders were mainly concerned about Fed raising interest rate faster than anticipated.

European markets also closed in the red yesterday with FTSE down 1.52%, CAX was down 2.02% and DAX closed 2.69% lower.

FII Data: In yesterday’s session, FII’s sold 2297 crores stock in the cash market whereas DII’s bought 2373 crores worth of stock.

In the derivative market, FII’s bought 244 crores of index futures and bought 2021 crores worth of Index options.

In the stock futures segment, FII’s bought 1302 crores worth of stock futures and bought 105 crores stock options.
