SGX Nifty is at 10,637, up 37 points. For today, we expect bounce back from most Asian indices as over sold conditions see buying return.

Yesterday, Nifty faced resistance around 10650 & saw selling emanate as investors booked profit. Bank Nifty was the star outperformer as lower yields prompted fresh bout of buying. For today, expect another shot at 10650 as oil fall, lower yields & rupee strength see global investors up India weight age.

Global markets:Asian indices opened mixed with the Japanese Nikkei trading in the red while most other Asian indices trading mildly positive. The sharp fall in oil has seen smart money buy emerging market stocks ex-Japan as investors chase higher returns. For today, expect bounce back from most Asian indices as over sold conditions see buying return.

US markets:US indices end with losses despite intra day recovery as growth jitters hit technology stocks while crude oil fall hurts energy constituents on Dow Jones index. Bond yields fall as liquidity chases fixed income assets as equities see volatility rise.

FII/DII Data: In yesterday’s trading session FIIs purchased 277cr stock in the cash market whereas DIIs sold 272cr worth of stock. In the derivative market, FIIs purchased 92cr of Index futures and bought 602cr worth of Index options. FII View: Marginal bullish positions were created by FIIs in yesterday’s trading session which is deduced by the fact that they created 292 net long contracts in Index Futures; however considering the volatility in the market they also purchased 8086 long contracts in Index Put Options in order to hedge their positions.
