The September quarter was a volatile one for Indian markets. On one hand, Sensex hit a record high of 38,989 on August 29 but on the other hand, foreign investors net sold Indian equities worth about Rs 10,000 crore through the quarter.
Despite the selling by foreign institutional investors (FIIs), they further bought shares in the companies which they have been buying consistently for the last three quarters.
Data from Ace Equity suggests that FIIs raised stake in as many as 136 companies consistently for the last four quarters.
Out of those, 96 companies fell up to 84 percent in 2018 including IL&FS Transport, Intrasoft Technologies, S Chand, Prabhat Dairy, JM Financial, Orient Cement, Century Textiles, Jai Corp, Max Ventures and Repco Home Finance.
