The benchmark BSE Sensex continued its post-Budget rally for the second straight day and surged over 2 per cent to get past the 24,000-mark on Wednesday. Finally BSE Sensex ended with a gain of 464 points at 24,243. The BSE Sensex opened at 24,045 touched an intra-day high of 24,280 and low of 24,044.
The NSE Nifty closed with a gain of 147 points at 7,369. The NSE Nifty opened at 7,322 hitting a high of 7,380 and low of 7,308. The broader market out-performed the BSE headline index. The Midcap closed higher by over 1.8 percent at 10,052 and the Smallcap index has jumped 2.2 percent to 10,073.
SBI, ICICI Bank, PNB, Hindalco, BoB, Adani Ports, Tech Mahindra and Yes Bank were among the gainers on NSE, whereas M&M, Sun Pharma, ITC, Coal India and BPCL were among the losers today.
