SGX Nifty indicates a positive opening for the Indian markets. Indian markets are expected to trade marginally higher in line with Asian peers, as geopolitical tension reseeds on account of tariff wars.
In stock-specific news, Tata Steel bags Bhushan Steel for Rs35,000cr making it the largest steel producer in India.
Global markets
Asian markets are trading in the green at present. Nikkei is currently up 0.78 %, Hang Seng is trading 1.09% higher, while Shanghai Composite is trading flat down 0.12%.
US Markets: Stocks witnessed strong recover closing well above the low point of the day. The Dow ended 0.3% lower at 24,801.36, S&P 500 edged down 0.1% to 2,726.80 while the tech-heavy Nasdaq managed to end the session in the green up 0.3% at 7396.
The pullback on Wall Street came after White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders suggested Mexico and Canada could be exempted from President Donald Trump's planned tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.
European markets closed in the green yesterday with the FTSE closing 0.15% higher, CAC ended 0.34% higher while DAX inched 1.07% higher.

In yesterday’s FII’s sold 719 crores stock in the cash market whereas DII’s bought 409 crores worth of stock.
In the derivative market, FII’s bought 377 crores of Index futures and sold 939 crores worth of Index options.
In the Stock futures segment, FII’s bought 353 crores worth of stock futures and sold 71 crores stock options.
FII View:
FII trading activity in yesterday’s session suggests that they have a bearish view in the near term, which is deduced from the fact that they closed out 5,179 long contracts in index call options and created 9,526 short positions in Index call options as well as 7,585 long contracts in Index put options.
