SGX Nifty is at 11707, up 22 points. For today, we expect further consolidation with an upward bias as select heavyweights see buying.
On Thursday, Nifty saw a volatile session with markets pricing in a rate cut by the Reserve Bank, which saw intraday volatility spike. Nifty saw selling pressure for another day with the index falling almost 100 points before last hour recovery limited the losses. Banks, financial services & metals were the big losers while media, pharma & auto saw buying.
Global Market: Asian markets in the green as most awaited outcome of the trade talks between the US and China may have been priced in. The Asian indices have been on a roll in these last 3 months with the Chinese Shanghai up over 32%. For today, we expect positive consolidation as weekend blues will see traders keep the market light.
US Markets: Dow Jones closes at fresh 6 month highs on positive trade talks sentiment. Bond yields rise to 2.53% as expectations of growth returns with equities being the largest gainers. US futures point higher as Chinese President tweets about being very happy with trade talks direction.
