Sensex, Nifty Slips 100 Points; Banking, FMCG Drag

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 25,768 down 100 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,835 down 21 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.54% at 10,903, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.54% at 11,429.

Some buying activity is seen in IT, auto, pharma, capital goods and consumer durables sectors, while banking, telecom, FMCG and metal sectors are showing weakness on BSE. Hero Moto Corp, BajajAuto, BHEL, Wipro, Dr.Reddy's, Lupin among the gainers, whereas Hindalco, Vedanta, ITC, Sun Pharma, Cipla, Tata Steel and NTPC are losing sheen on BSE. Out of 1,758 stocks traded on the NSE, 596 declined and 895 advanced today. A total of 48 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 21 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
