The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 24,648 down 36 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,539 down mere eight points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.15% at 10,542, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.07% at 10,605.
Lupin, Dr.Reddy's, Adani Ports, Tata Motors, HDFC, BHEL, NTPC, L&T and Cipla are among the gainers, whereas Hero MotoCorp, Infosys, Axis Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Steel, TCS, Wipro and SBI are losing sheen on BSE.
Some buying activity is seen in capital goods, power, utilities, industrial and finance sector, while energy, IT, oil and gas, consumer durables, teck and auto are showing weakness on BSE.
The INDIA VIX is down 2.27% at 16.5500. Out of 1,779 stocks traded on the NSE, 696 declined, 631 advanced and 452 remained unchanged today.
A total of seven stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 12 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
