SGX Nifty indicating a flat openingSGX Nifty is indicating a flat opening. Indian markets are expected to trade range bound with a positive bias continuing the positive momentum built-up in the last two trading session.
Global markets: Major Asian markets are trading mixed at present Nikkei is down 0.09%, Hang Seng is up 0.22% while Shanghai Composite is trading 0.31% higher.
US Markets: Stocks regained ground in yesterday’s session, rising noticeably in the final hour of trade. The Dow surged 1.7% to 24,033.36, the Nasdaq jumped 1% to 6,941.28 and the S&P 500 closed 1.3% higher at 2,614.45. Bargain hunting contributed to the rally on Wall Street, with traders picking up stocks at reduced levels after the sharp correction witnessed on Monday.
European markets ended in the red yesterday with the FTSE closing 0.37% lower, CAC ended down 0.29%, while the DAX ended 0.79% lower.
FII Data: In yesterday’s trading session FIIs sold 376 crores worth of stock in the cash market. In the derivative market, FIIs sold 693 crores of Index futures and bought 1,880 crores worth of Index options. In the Stock futures segment, FIIs sold 111 crores worth of stock futures and bought 62 crores stock options.
FII View: FII trading activity in yesterday’s session suggests that they have a bearish view on the market in the short term which is deduced from the fact that they created 6,783 short contracts in Index Futures while they created 10,452 long contracts in Index Put Options.
