Bank Nifty Dec 2, 2017, expiry contract saw a formation of short positions in out the money call and put option strikes, indicating a range bound activity in the index
In today’s trade markets remained volatile throughout the day but ends on a neutral note.
Nifty IT index gained 1.2% in trade with major heavyweights like Infosys and HCL Tech gaining more than ~2% at the close. Market breadth favoured declines with Advance/ Decline ratio closing at 2:3x.
Nifty closed in green gaining 0.1% while Nifty Bank gave a sharp recovery in last 30 minutes of trade, recovering almost everything that it lost during the day.
Nifty and Bank Nifty index future added fresh open to the tune of ~11.58/2.4 lakh shares. Tracking the options front, Bank Nifty Dec 7, 2017 expiry contract saw a formation of short positions in out the money call and put option strikes, indicating a range bound activity in the index.
Nifty 10000PE added fresh open interest to the tune of ~4 lakh shares, hinting marginal addition of short positions. India Vix ended the day at 14.85 up 0.4%.
