In today’s trade markets witnessed heavy volatility with both Nifty and Bank Nifty facing selling pressure at higher levels.
Financial stocks were among the top losers as traders created short positions ahead of the key US Federal Reserve policy outcome which is scheduled later in the day.
The advance-decline ratio stood at 1:2.Nifty Futures & Bank Nifty Futures ended the day 0.37%/0.52% lower and added fresh open interest to the tune of ~7/0.46 lakh shares, indicating a marginal hint of short positions.
Tracking the options front call writing was witnessed in out of the money strikes with 10500CE and 10600CE adding ~5.31 and ~1.33 lakh shares respectively indicating short positions.
While out of the money 10000PE also witnessed short covering to the tune of ~5 lakh shares. India Vix ended the day at 15.94 witnessing a steep surge of 4.49%.
