Nifty futures added fresh open interest to the tune of ~14.6 lakh shares, indicating a formation of long positions, while Bank Nifty futures witnessed short covering by shedding ~1.34 lakh shares in open interest
In today’s trade, markets continue its upward momentum and closed around its intraday highs for the second day in a row.
Across the board, buying was seen in OMC’s, Tyre & FMCG companies.
Nifty and Bank Nifty index gained ~1% each, while Nifty futures added fresh open interest to the tune of ~14.6 lakh shares, indicating a formation of long positions.
Bank Nifty futures witnessed short covering by shedding ~1.34 lakh shares in open interest.
Tracking the options front, across the board, unwinding of short positions was witnessed in Nifty call options strikes with 10100CE shedding the most, ~5.8 lakh shares in open interest.
Nifty at the money and out the money put options added a fresh short position, with 10200PE adding the most.
India Vix index ended at 13.67, down ~4%.
