Nifty Hovers Around 10,150 Mark; Infosys, HDFC Stock Gain

Sensex was trading higher by over 100 points and the Nifty50 above the 10,150 mark led by gains in Infosys.

Equity benchmarks gained strength again, led by Infosys. Infosys stock jumped 4% after the company's board of directors appointed Salil Parekh as managing director and chief executive officer of the company.

Nifty IT Index was the top sectoral gainer today. Infosys, Mindtree (+4%), Tech Mahindra (+2%), HCL Tech (+1%).

BSE Sensex rose 89 points to 32,922 and the NSE Nifty50 Index gained by 25 points to 10,146.

The BSE Mid-cap Index and BSE Small-cap Index were trading lower at 16,731 and 18,005 respectively.

Some buying was seen in IT, Metal, FMCG and PSU bank, while Pharma, Auto and Pvt bank showed weakness on the NSE.

Infosys, Indiabulls HF, Hindalco, Zee and Vedanta gained the most on Nifty50.

Bharti Infratel, Coal India, Bajaj Finance, UPL, Maruti were the top losers.

India VIX rises by 1.99% at 15.09 level.

Out of 2,012 stocks traded on the NSE, 775 advanced, 866 declined, and 371 remained unchanged today.

A total of 56 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 20 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
