The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 25,437 down 144 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,749 down 36 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.34% at 11,211, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.57% at 11,968.
Some buying activity is seen in oil & gas, banking, energy, pharma and IT sectors, while metal, auto and FMCG sectors are showing weakness on BSE. RIL, Bharti Airtel, GAIL, Cipla, HDFC Bank, TCS, BHEL and HDFC Bank and Dr.Reddy's are among the gainers, whereas ITC, ICICI Bank, NTPC, Infosys and Tata Steel are losing sheen on BSE.
The India VIX (Volatility) index is down 1.03% to 16.53. Out of 1,780 stocks traded on the NSE, 559 declined and 972 advanced today.
A total of 127 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while eight stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
