The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 27326.58 up 68.94 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8433.45 up 16.45 points. A total of 44 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 6 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.38% at 12777.48, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.37% at 12930.87.
Auto, Media and FMCG are trading in green with gains of 0.56%, 0.26% and 0.59% respectively. All other sectors are trading in red. There is some buying activity seen in Idea, Tata Motors, GAIL and Bharti Airtel, while there is some selling activity seen in Hindalco, CIPLA, Wipro and Auro Pharma on NSE in the morning hours.
The INDIA VIX is up 0.18% at 15.21. Indo Thai Securities (ITS), Agro Tech Foods (ATF) and Uttam Galva Steel (UGS) are the three companies that have gained more than 10% on intraday basis in the first half of the trading session on Thursday.
ITS is trading firmly up in green recording gains of 14.17%. Agro Tech Foods is up by more than 12.9% and Uttam Galva Steel is trading up by more than 10.5%. Agro Tech Foods came up with its Q3 FY17 results on January 18 and the stock is reacting to the results in today’s trade.
