The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 26789 up 157 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8242 up 52 points. A total of 16 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 5 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
Out of 1884 stocks traded on the NSE, 277 declined, 1186 advanced and 421 remained unchanged today.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.84% at 12297, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 0.82% at 12474. Some buying activity is observed in Auto, Bank, Metal, Oil & Gas, Consumer Durables sectors, while Telecom, Utilities, Realty are showing weakness on BSE.
Tata Motors, Tata Motors DVR, Bosch, Yes Bank, Ultratech Cement, Bank of Baroda, Tata Steel, ONGC, Wipro, Hindalco are among the gainers, whereas Infratel, Bharti Airtel, Idea, ITC, HDFC, M&M, TCS, BHEL are losing sheen on NSE. The INDIA VIX is down 4.05% at 15.24.
