As the Nifty consolidates at 8650 levels, ICICI Bank is the top contributor to BSE Bankex, and is also pushing the Sensex in the upward direction. Inspite of ITC dragging the FMCG index down, Andrew Yule & Co., is the top performer in the index and is compensating for the losses, helping it to maintain its position.
BSE Bankex index is the top performing index in lunch hours and is outperforming all other indices in Friday's session. ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda, PNB and State Bank of India are the top performing stocks in the sectoral index.
At 2 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 27975, up by 266.17 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8664.80, up 62.25 points; while a total of 82 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, and 10 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap index is trading up 0.96% at 12881.66, whereas BSE Small-cap index is trading up 0.82% at1304.86.
Majority of the BSE indexes are trading in green in lunch hours, wherein Power, Consumer Durables, Bankex, Utilities, Telecom and Finance indices are the top gainers in lunch hours; whereas Realty and FMCG are showing signs of weakness on the BSE.
BHEL, ICICI Bank, SBI, Bank of Baroda and ACC are among the gainers; whereas Bosch Ltd., ITC, Wipro, Lupin, Wipro and Kotak Bank are losing sheen on NSE.
The INDIA VIX is up by 5.14% at 15.95.
