HDFC twins are pushing the Sensex up by contributing almost 30% to its gains. NTPC is the top Sensex gainer up by 2.15%. BHEL trading at Rs 131 odd levels is up by more than 2.4%. LT a heavyweight capital good company is up by more than 1.6% trading at Rs 1417 odd levels.
The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 27242.57 up 125.23 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8437.4 up 45.9 points. A total of 50 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 9 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.55% at 12714.11, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.51% at 12886.05. Some buying activity is seen in Energy, Finance, Healthcare, Utilities and Telecom while Information Technology, FMCG and Teck are showing weakness on BSE.
FMCG and IT sectors are trading in red on NSE while all other sectors are trading in green. There are 1033 stocks advancing, 522 stocks are declining while 351 are unchanged on NSE. Idea, BHEL, Tata Power, NTPC and Coal India are among the gainers, whereas Hindustan Unilever, Bharti Airtel, Infosys, HCL Tech and Asian Paints are losing sheen on NSE in the first trading hour. The INDIA VIX is down 2.14% at 15.56.
