Markets Expected To Open In The Green, In-line With Asian Peers

SGX Nifty indicating a positive opening for the Indian markets. The government will today begin a sale of 1.5% stake in NMDC at a floor price of Rs153.50 a piece, fetching Rs750cr to the government.Major Asian markets are trading in the green at present. Shanghai Composite is up 0.09%, Hang Seng is up 0.23%, while the Nikkei is trading 0.54% higher.
US markets: Stocks turned in a relatively lacklustre performance during trading in yesterday’s session. The major averages ended the day mixed with Dow closing 0.1% lower at 25,283, while the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 reached new record closing highs. The Nasdaq climbed 0.3% to 7,157.39 and the S&P 500 rose 0.2% to 2,747.71. A lack of major US economic data kept traders on the sidelines ahead of the release of key reports on retail sales and producer and consumer prices later this week.

European markets also closed mixed yesterday with FTSE down 0.36%, CAX up 30% and DAX up 0.36%. 

FII Data: In yesterday’s session, FII’s bought 692 crores stocks in the cash market, whereas DII’s sold 206 crores worth of stock. In the derivative market, FII’s bought 205 crores of Index futures and bought 2,727 crores worth of Index options. In the Stock futures segment, FII’s sold 33 crores worth of stock futures and sold 212 crores stock options.
