Equity benchmark indices gave up morning gains and have moved into a negative zone. The Nifty has slipped below the 10,750 mark.The Nifty50 has slipped below 10,750 mark led by losses seen in RIL, HDFC, ITC and Tata Motors.
the BSE Sensex was trading at 34,890, up 47 points, while the broader Nifty50 index was ruling at 10,744, up mere two points.
Information technology stocks were the strongest today, with the Nifty IT Index rising over 2.5%, led by a surge in shares of Tech Mahindra, Wipro and Tata Consultancy Services.
Shares of the GNFC fell 8% after it indefinitely closed its TDI-II plant at Dahej following leakage.
Federal Bank stock dropped 6% after its non-performing assets slightly rose in the December quarter.
The BSE Mid-cap and BSE Small-cap indices were down 1.10% and 1.60%, respectively.
Volatility index India VIX slipped 1.62%.
HCL Tech (+4.5%), Wipro (+3.5%), TCS (+3.4%), Tech Mahindra (+2.9%) and Infosys (+1.9%) were the top gainers on Nifty50.
Vedanta (-2.3%), Tata Motors (-2.2%), Bajaj Finance (-2%), HPCL (-1.9%) and BPCL (-1.8%) were the top losers in today’s trade.
Out of 2,013 stocks traded on the NSE, 304 advanced, 1,374 declined and 335 remained unchanged today.
A total of 96 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while three stock touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
