Markets Indicating A Positive Opening Ahead Of Union Budget

SGX Nifty indicating a positive opening for the Indian markets.

Markets are expected to be volatile as the Finance minister will be present the Union budget later in the day, market participants would keep an eye on the fiscal consolidation roadmap and borrowing plans and await if long-term capital gain tax is reintroduced.

Ashok Leyland, Ceat, MRF, Power Grid, Cummins, and Titan are some of the large-cap companies set to announce their Q3 results today.

Global markets
Major Asian markets are trading in the green at present Nikkei is up 1.34%, Hang Seng is up 0.15%, while Shanghai Composite is trading 0.12% higher.

US Markets: The major averages ended the day modestly lower. The Dow rose 0.3% to 26,149.39, the Nasdaq inched up 0.1% to 7,411.48 and the S&P 500 also ended the session 0.1% higher at 2,823.81.

The modestly higher close on Wall Street came after the Federal Reserve announced its widely expected decision to leave interest rates unchanged.

European markets closed mixed yesterday with FTSE down 0.72%, CAX was up 0.15% and DAX closed 0.06% lower.

FII Data:
In yesterday’s session FII’s sold 136 crores stock in the cash market whereas DII’s bought 1294 crores worth of stock.

In the derivative market, FII’s sold 83 crores of index futures and sold 347 crores worth of Index options.

In the stock futures segment, FII’s sold 752 crores worth of stock futures and bought 31 crores stock options.
